- Administer Medications and Treatments: Safely administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, while monitoring patient responses and reporting any concerns.
- Facilitate Education and Support: Participate in and facilitate classes, workshops, and support groups to promote patient education, empowerment, and well-being.
- Coordinate Care Transitions: Collaborate with the care team to ensure seamless transitions of care, including end-of-episode summaries and after-visit summaries.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately and thoroughly document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in Unit Activities: Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, participating in unit activities, reporting observations, and asking questions to clarify patient needs.
- Implement Treatment Plans: Work collaboratively with the treatment team to implement patient treatment plans, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate patient information and concerns to treating clinicians and care team members, ensuring timely and informed decision-making.
- Ensure Patient Safety: Identify and report any patient safety concerns, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all patients.
- Perform Other Related Duties: Assist with other duties as needed, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit and the delivery of exceptional patient care.
- Experience: Minimum six (6) months of experience working in an acute mental health treatment setting within the past four years.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program or otherwise qualified for California licensure as a Psychiatric Technician.
- License and Certification: Psychiatric Technician License (California) and Basic Life Support certification.
- Additional Requirements: Knowledge of laws and regulations governing mental health services in California, willingness to develop competencies in managing the milieu in a PHF, and ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
