About the Role

Oxford Knight is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Deploy Cloud Infrastructure: Architect and deploy globally distributed, fault-tolerant solutions to various AWS services, ensuring team members can securely access service and network resources.
  • Support Project and Operational Teams: Support project and operational teams through the adoption of GitOps, continuous delivery pipelines, DevSecOps security capabilities.
  • Infrastructure Investigation and Optimization: Investigate and optimize infrastructure to support highest quality data channels.
  • Distributed Compute Management: Manage and maintain distributed compute through configuration, hardening, and patching.
  • Systematic Monitoring: Systematically monitor distributed and varied infrastructure.
  • Automation and Efficiency: Suggest and implement automations, services, and features that improve overall org efficiency.
  • Software Deployment and Support: Rapidly deploy lean software and iteratively support, extend, and elevate to production-grade systems.
  • Engineering Team Support: Provide support to the engineering team at large, encouraging best practice across the SDLC.
Requirements
  • AWS Expertise: Expert knowledge of AWS (multi-region, multi-account administration).
  • Linux/Unix-like Operating Systems: Deep understanding of Linux/Unix-like operating systems.
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • IaC, Templating, Scripting: Strong IaC, templating, scripting skills (Terraform, Helm, YAML, Bash, Python).
  • Configuration Management Tools: Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Container Orchestration Systems: Intimate experience with container orchestration systems and underlying technologies (K8s, Docker, containerd).
  • Distributed Cloud Computing Principles: Adherence to distributed cloud computing principles (networking, observability, high availability, reproducible, and composable systems).
  • Zero-Trust Security Models: Experience working with zero-trust security models and implementing modern security best practice within an AWS operating environment.
  • Global Team Environment: Demonstrated ability to work in a global team environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong Academics: Strong academics in Computer Science or Software Engineering from a top-tier university.
  • Development/Engineering Background: Background in development/engineering.
  • VPN and Site-to-Site Network Access: Working knowledge configuring VPNs and site-to-site network access patterns.
  • Web3 Technologies: Working knowledge or interest in web3 technologies and their applications.
