Senior Vice President of Financial Strategy

The Senior Vice President of Financial Strategy will be tasked with formulating and executing the financial strategy for the division, aligning with Emirates' vision of becoming the most esteemed provider of air and travel services globally. This role is pivotal in safeguarding shareholder interests, delivering financial insights, and enhancing value through effective leadership of the finance organization across various regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the achievement of the division's financial objectives, including Net Profit and Cash flow, by actively engaging in market assessments, conducting monthly performance evaluations, and participating in quarterly executive meetings.
  • Lead the management reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to provide strategic guidance on infrastructure costs and revenue generation, offering decision-making support to senior leadership.
  • Evaluate and authorize significant investments, including capital expenditures and new business ventures.
  • Manage the financial components of Mergers & Acquisitions, including the development of financial models, business case preparation, and oversight of external financial due diligence.
  • Ensure adherence to all Emirates Group and local statutory financial reporting requirements by establishing a robust accounting framework.
  • Implement strategies to ensure local and global tax compliance, enhancing the financial efficiency of the organization.
  • Oversee governance aspects, ensuring the consistent application of corporate governance standards and working with auditors to maintain transparency in financial controls.
  • Serve on the boards of local subsidiaries, representing shareholder interests and fulfilling statutory board obligations.
  • Lead the recruitment and development of finance leaders within subsidiaries and the head office.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a degree or honors in a relevant field; a postgraduate qualification in finance is preferred.
  • At least 12 years of pertinent finance or finance management experience in a large multinational organization, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior finance management role.
  • Proven experience in leading a large team of finance professionals across multiple regions in a matrix organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a professional accounting qualification, with a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in the aviation or aviation services industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance disciplines, including management accounting, financial and statutory accounting, taxation, working capital management, and loan financing.
  • Strong influencing capabilities and a proven track record of engaging effectively at all organizational levels, combined with a solid understanding of finance best practices.
