Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly skilled Billing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our billing department, you will be responsible for obtaining and verifying insurance information for billing of insurance/third party payers. You will also verify estimate letters and reconcile patients' bills, capturing all data system applications. Additionally, you will prepare, review, and submit billing claims and invoices, working on claim edits and following up on balances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for high volume, non-specialized billing/edit resolution.
  • Prepares insurance claims for submission to all third party payers and/or responsible parties.
  • Reviews claims for accuracy, including proper diagnosis and procedure codes.
  • Ensures appropriate review of bills and statements before sending out to insurance companies to reduce risks of denial.
  • Prepares self-pay bills in a timely manner, follows up on balances and resolves patients' queries.
  • Required to have updated knowledge of both CCAD and UAE insurance regulations around billing to ensure compliance with appropriate regulations.
  • Recognizes and resolves billing or coding inconsistencies. Uses clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Healthcare related field
  • Minimum of one (1) year billing experience preferably in-patient accounting billing system is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of patient accounts management, including insurance processing and cash application.
  • Proficient with PCs, spreadsheets and other software applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak and write in English is required.
  • Health care industry experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate in Medical Billing or from a specialized program is preferred.
  • AAPC/AHIMA membership
  • Hospital Billing system/EPIC experience
