Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Director of Trading and Market Analysis to join our Global Markets team at First Gulf Bank PJSC. As a key member of our trading desk, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of trades, conducting market research, and analyzing economic indicators to inform trading decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Trade Execution Support
  • Assist in the execution of trades under the supervision of senior traders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor market conditions and update the team on relevant market movements.
Market Research and Analysis
  • Conduct in-depth research on global markets, including analyzing economic indicators, market trends, and news events.
  • Prepare daily market reports and summaries for the trading desk, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of trading strategies by providing data analysis and insights.
  • Support the team in monitoring and managing risk exposure on trades, ensuring adherence to the firm's risk management guidelines.
Learning and Development
  • Participate in training sessions and learn from senior traders to build a strong foundation in trading.
  • Stay updated on global market developments, financial instruments, and trading technologies.
  • Continuously improve trading skills through practical experience and feedback.
Operational Support
  • Assist in the maintenance of trading records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Help with the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, risk management, and operations, to ensure smooth trading processes.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Understand and adhere to regulatory requirements relevant to trading activities.
  • Participate in compliance training and keep abreast of any changes in regulations.
  • Assist in ensuring that all trading activities are conducted in compliance with internal controls and industry standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in trading, financial analysis, or a related field (internship experience is acceptable).
  • Basic knowledge of financial markets, trading concepts, and financial instruments.
Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with trading platforms or financial analysis tools (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters).
