Job Summary

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Manager to lead the financial work streams of our green hydrogen projects. The successful candidate will oversee activities related to financial modelling, project financing, and project financial reporting to take projects through all stages up to financial close.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Work Streams Management
  • Assist in negotiation of project finance transactions in close collaboration with the Head of Commercial and key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support negotiation of other project documents (e.g., PPA, EIA, TCA, LLA, etc.).
Financial Modelling and Analysis
  • Build, review, and operate complex internally or externally developed models.
  • Perform financial analysis and develop more junior candidates, as per project requirements, showcasing all relevant aspects of risk and projected returns.
  • Liaise and explain financial model and associated analysis to internal stakeholders.
Financial Reporting of Projects
  • Perform and review project financials reporting work.
  • Investigate anomalies in reported figures and take appropriate action in line with guidelines.
  • Propose and lead efforts to improve reporting process and improve portfolio security.
Presentation Material Preparation
  • Contribute to the preparation of business cases and recommendations, to support investment mandates.
  • Ensure the correctness of all financial and analytical inputs into IC/Board presentations.
  • Ensure liaison and collaboration with internal departments (commercial, technical, legal, tax, insurance, environmental, QHSE, etc.) and external stakeholders (lenders, equity partners, external advisors), as required.
Portfolio and Asset Management
  • In collaboration with asset management teams, contribute to the management of the value maximization (returns vs. risk) of existing green hydrogen assets.
  • Manage the existing green hydrogen assets proactively from a financial and commercial perspective to optimize value and returns.
Stakeholder and Investor Management
  • Manage relationships with existing and prospective stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners including Asterix Communications' support functions (financial, legal, regulatory, and industrial).
  • Manage internal cross-functional communications with corporate functions, including legal, tax, insurance, engineering, finance, and procurement and delivery teams.
Requirements
  1. Qualifications
  • CFA, MBA, or relevant Master's degree from a top-tier internationally recognized higher education institution.
  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in Mathematics, Physics, or other STEM, with minor in Finance or Business.
Experience
  • 4-6 years of experience in senior roles involving similar work and hands-on financial modelling as well as management of financial modelers in an M&A or project finance environment at a market-leading investment bank / advisory firm / developer / financial sponsor or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a strong track record of advisory and/or structuring experience on leveraged, acquisition, and project financings.
  • Demonstrable career history working with and advising major utilities, developers, and financial sponsors across global power and renewable energy sectors.
  • Experience in green hydrogen is a plus.
Skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills leading to a consultative approach within a corporate / multifunctional environment.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Deep specialized skills in leading-edge modelling, model review / audit, M&A, project financing, etc.
  • Ability to lead and conduct complex financial modelling, valuation, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge of corporate and structured finance, trade finance, and debt capital markets.
  • Advanced ability to negotiate, influence, and present financial solutions.
  • Understanding of the financial markets and economics locally and globally.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry.
  • Ability to prioritize actions and work within a diverse team.
  • Project management skills and planning and organizing skills.
  • Attention to detail.
