- Ensure Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all housekeeping staff adhere to Joint Commission International (JCIA) and infection control codes, maintaining a safe and environmentally friendly facility.
- Staff Management and Development: Plan and schedule staff according to requirements, adjusting housekeeping areas assigned to staff availability and special cleaning needs.
- Inventory Management: Supervise the receipt and issue of materials and equipment, ensuring timely ordering of supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Waste Management and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper application of waste management codes of practice and the safe use, storage, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
- Resource Optimization: Ensure the effective use of manpower and material resources, minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
- Logistics and Record-Keeping: Ensure that housekeeping keys are returned after every shift, and proper records are maintained, including log books, staff worksheets, supervisor inspection sheets, and reports.
