Job Title: Senior Civil Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our team at Oil and Gas Job Search Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design and development of civil and structural engineering projects in the oil and gas industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the study and preparation of site development plans, including earthwork calculations and BoQs related to earthworks.
  • Design underground networks, including storm water, sanitary water, and oily water systems.
  • Ensure that all assigned activities are carried out within stipulated man-hour budgets and time schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of project-related standards and job notes.
  • Perform engineering design calculations and prepare design sketches as required.
  • Review and comment on drawings related to civil and structural engineering activities.
  • Review and comment on supplier and other discipline drawings.
  • Attend progress meetings and assist in the preparation of project progress reports.
  • Advise supervising engineers of any slippages and their causes, and proposed corrective action.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract requisitions and schedules of quantity for Underground Utilities work.
  • Liaise with construction personnel and address site queries during construction.
  • Perform such duties as may reasonably be assigned by the lead or supervising Civil Engineer.
  • Perform all assigned work to agreed standards for safety, health, environment, and demonstrate a commitment to attaining high levels of HSE performance.
  • Participate in and advise on all design activities and initiatives, including provision of training/inductions and documentation review.
  • Verify that all designs are to required standards, that the objectives of the project are met, and that the work is completed to the agreed schedule.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 10 years' minimum industrial experience.
  • Experience in High Sour Gas projects is preferred.
  • Membership of a professional body and Chartered Engineer is highly desired.
  • The candidate will have considerable experience in Civil Engineering, especially in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • The candidate must be experienced in EPC organizations in the field of Engineering Design/FEED projects in all aspects of Civil and Structural activities.
  • Candidate will be fully familiar with terminology used and adopted in the Oil and Gas business.
  • Candidate will have a range of technical abilities, from the use of engineering and design software, through to understanding of topographical, geophysical, and geotechnical issues.
  • The candidate shall be conversant and comfortable in engineering with any materials normally understood and used by civil and structural engineers.
  • The successful candidate can bring, at appropriate times, innovation to the engineering process from their background.
