About the Role

Silk Route Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Womenswear Category Manager to join our team in Dubai. As a key member of our buying team, you will be responsible for managing the ladies' fashion category, driving commercial performance, and building strong relationships with vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Product Strategy: Develop and implement product strategies for the ladies' fashion category, aligned with European trends and customer profiles.
  2. Commercial Performance: Drive commercial performance by optimizing costs, margins, and lead times.
  3. Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure good performance in terms of execution and delivery.
  4. Team Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with design, merchandising, marketing, visual, sourcing, and quality teams to ensure the right product reaches the right place at the right time and at the right price.
  5. Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and events, traveling across Asia, Europe, Korea, and America for shows and bringing the best product to the table.
  6. Team Management: Manage junior members of the team and keep them motivated.

Requirements

Experience and Skills

  1. At least 5 years of experience as a buyer in the womenswear category from a commercial high street background.
  2. Fantastic eye for products and trends.
  3. Commercially savvy and numbers-driven.
  4. Willingness to relocate to Dubai and commit to a few years in the role.
