Job Title: Linear & Pivot Systems Technician

Reliance Career Opportunities is seeking a skilled Linear & Pivot Systems Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced technician to operate and maintain our pivot and linear irrigation systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our irrigation systems, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and oversee the performance of pivot and linear irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage and crop yield.
  • Conduct routine inspections of irrigation equipment to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, cleaning, and parts replacement to extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with irrigation systems, including electrical and mechanical components, to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  • Repair or replace defective parts and components to ensure proper functionality and prevent equipment failure.
  • Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules based on weather conditions, soil moisture levels, and crop requirements to optimize water usage and crop yield.
  • Ensure compliance with water usage regulations and environmental guidelines to minimize our impact on the environment.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and water usage data to inform future maintenance and optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with farm management and agronomists to optimize irrigation efficiency and crop yield.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety protocols to ensure the well-being of our team members.
Requirements:
  • 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in irrigation systems maintenance.
  • Proven experience as an Irrigation Systems Technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining pivot and linear irrigation systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with farm management and agronomists.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Certification or training in irrigation systems maintenance is preferred, as is a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
