About The Opportunity

Gleeds is a world-class construction consultancy with over 75 offices globally. We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Director to lead our Infrastructure team.

This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work on high-profile projects worldwide, utilising your expertise in cost management, contract administration, and project delivery.

You'll be responsible for representing the company as an ambassador, leading member of the management team, and developing strategies to drive growth and success.

The role involves ensuring that projects are managed in accordance with Gleeds processes and procedures, reviewing scope of appointments on a monthly basis, and delivering high-quality services meeting customer requirements.

In addition, you'll be expected to manage and maintain customer relationships, resolve customer complaints, and develop and enhance Gleeds cost management capability.

We welcome applications from experienced professionals who can demonstrate their ability to motivate others, provide support and encouragement, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Formulating and implementing business strategies to drive growth and success
  • Leading and managing teams, including working with Associate Directors in managing resources and workload
  • Preparing bids for services and managing service delivery for profit
  • Managing the commercial aspects of projects, including scope of services/deliverables, invoices, payments, and debt management
  • Developing and enhancing Gleeds cost management capability
Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A proven background working or supporting on UK infrastructure projects or clients across Water, Utilities, Rail, Highways or Aviation
  • Extensive cost management experience post MRICS qualification
  • Detailed knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and cost planning techniques
  • A clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to motivate others, provide support and encouragement
  • Proficiency in negotiating sufficient fees to complete services and generate required profit levels
