About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Access Strategist to join our team at AbbVie. As a key member of our Market Access team, you will play a critical role in accelerating patient access to innovative AbbVie brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Market Access Strategies

Develop and execute market access strategies that address questions and influence key decision-makers. This includes building strategic partnerships and market access strategies with the support of the MKA Director at assigned MA authorities or regional/hospital formulary listing committees.

Define Value Propositions

Define value propositions by consolidating core value dossiers, stakeholder needs, local environment, and brand priorities. Customize technical data into simple, compelling messages in the format required and appropriate for local stakeholders.

Engage with MA Authorities and Customers

Engage assigned MA authorities and customers on a regular basis, including national and/or regional public market formulary listing agencies, experts and advisors to MA authorities, pricing and/or reimbursement authorities.

Obtain and Maintain Formulary Listing

Obtain, maintain, and optimize formulary listing (with or without tenders). Analyze opportunities and risks, formulate formulary listing (or sometimes de-listing) strategy, and maximize formulary listing results, measured by accounts.

Strategic Account Planning

Develop strategic account plans to build distinguished quality access and sustainable win-win partnerships. Map decision-making processes and criteria, regularly monitor, and update. Perform systematic stakeholder mapping, gain thorough understanding of formal and informal decision-making.

Improve Access Policies and Conditions

Monitor changing dynamics in terms of access policies & conditions, such as pricing, reimbursement, formulary listing, other relevant payer policies & guidelines, and, where applicable, tender specifications. Identify areas to move from low(est) price-based to value-based decision-making, leverage global policy concepts, tools, and international experts to improve or preserve access policies and conditions.

Identify and Execute Payer Value-Added Programs

Identify and execute payer value-added programs based on strategic account planning, including payer engagement programs, or local health economics studies.

Key Qualifications
  • Background

University degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, biology or equivalent. Experience working in a multinational company with a matrix organization. More than 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including experience in Market Access authorities and/or formulary listing committees, preferably with experience working with Immunology and Oncology therapeutic areas.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of Gulf market mechanics, healthcare policies, and funding pathways. Knowledge of pharmaco-economic and health technology assessment principles (master's degree is an advantage). Fluent in English.
