Job Summary

Avua is seeking a highly skilled BIM Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for developing and managing BIM models for structural projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Manage BIM Models: Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date BIM models for structural projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural models into overall project BIM, ensuring seamless project execution and delivery.
  • Perform Structural Analysis and Design: Conduct structural analysis and design using BIM software, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Develop Construction Documents: Create detailed construction documents, including drawings, schedules, and specifications, from BIM models.
  • Coordinate Project Execution: Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct Clash Detection and Resolution: Identify and resolve conflicts within BIM models to ensure constructability and project success.
  • Provide Technical Support and Guidance: Offer technical support and guidance on BIM processes and standards to project teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with the latest BIM technologies, software, and industry best practices, applying this knowledge to improve project delivery and outcomes.
  • Prepare and Present Reports: Prepare and present BIM-related reports, progress updates, and project documentation to stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise communication.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in structural engineering and BIM modeling.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, Tekla) and structural analysis tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, building codes, and standards, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, with a strong focus on project management and construction oversight.
