Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing the kitchen and stewarding operations of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and organizing kitchen operations, including food production, purchasing, and manpower planning.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting for the kitchen and stewarding departments.
  • Monitor food costs and departmental operating expenses to ensure targets are met without compromising product quality.
  • Review and monitor departmental work schedules and payroll to ensure alignment with budgets.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in preparing and converting departmental promotions calendars.
  • Coordinate with Food & Beverage Operations to implement changing programs and promotions according to seasonality.
  • Ensure effective staff scheduling and posting of schedules seven days in advance.
  • Develop and implement new menu items, including staff education and tasting.
  • Ensure compliance with local municipality HACCAP standards and certification.
  • Identify new potential revenue streams, including outside catering opportunities, in conjunction with the Executive Chef.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures, with the ability to maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
