  • Enhance deal execution within set parameters, focusing on reducing costs and maximizing profit margins.
  • Evaluate execution-related risks and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to mitigate them.
  • Engage daily with external partners, including contractual counterparts, terminal operators, vessel owners/brokers, and contracted service providers such as cargo inspectors or port agents.
  • Maintain daily internal communication with Cargo/Freight Traders, Shipping & Maritime, Manufacturing, Product Optimizers, Claims, Contracts, Demurrage, Legal, and Trade Finance teams.
  • Oversee product quality standards to ensure compliance with contractual obligations while maximizing profitability.
  • Manage cargo operations, addressing off-spec issues, scheduling, loading and unloading, ship-to-ship transfers, blending, and optimizing volume and date ranges.
  • Ensure that all necessary financial guarantees are established before transferring ownership to clients.
  • Engage independent cargo inspectors, expeditors, and ship agents as needed.
  • Conduct investigations into product quality issues by appointing independent inspectors and expeditors.
  • Plan and oversee the movement of refined products and components, considering varying complexities.
  • Handle intricate loading and blending processes in accordance with trader specifications, internal protocols, and blending facility availability.
  • Ensure timely communication of all operational information and compliance with documentary requirements.
  • Address contractual issues professionally and effectively to support the trading operations.
  • Update operational data in trading systems promptly and accurately to facilitate seamless information flow.
  • Assist with post-deal activities, including settlements, customs clearance, demurrage, and claims.
  • Maintain thorough records to fulfill the company's legal and fiscal responsibilities, including necessary regulatory submissions.
  • Provide guidance on cargo invoicing, diversion payments, and accrual clearances.
  • Be accountable for daily updates and monthly reconciliations of terminal inventory, adhering to end-of-month procedures.
  • Generate inventory forecasts and scheduling reports.
  • Develop a robust network among key internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, and logistics service providers.
  • Offer backup support to team members as designated by the line manager for coverage planning.
  • Support Know Your Customer (KYC) processes for third-party service providers, including storage firms, independent inspectors, and shipping agents.
  • Execute any other reasonable and lawful tasks as directed by management.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
  • Comply with the company's rules, regulations, procedures, and policies consistently.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, BEHAVIORS)

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commercial Studies, Logistics, Economics, or a related discipline. A Master's degree in a relevant field is advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years in the commodities trading sector.
  • At least 3 years in trading operations within the same product category, ideally with experience in a similar role.

Knowledge

  • Thorough understanding of Supply Chain (Products, Logistics, Processing).
  • Advanced knowledge of Legal & Contracts (Law, Incoterms, Tax, Regulation).
  • Strong background in Finance (Credit, Cost Control, Treasury).
  • Practical experience in Trading.
