About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Executive Vice President - Credit Risk Management to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for credit assessment and appraisal of obligors across Wholesale Banking, Treasury, Financial Institutions, Cross-Border, Mid Corporate, and Commercial sectors.
The ideal candidate will have experience in defining operating frameworks, creating a culture of continuous improvement, and managing credit risk within banking portfolios. Strong knowledge of credit analysis, structuring limits, syndications, and loan documentation is essential, as well as a deep understanding of economic trends and market developments.
The successful candidate will oversee credit appraisal functions, loan review, and compliance with various policies and regulations. Proficiency in implementing credit analysis systems and quality assurance standards for loans and facilities is also required.
Key Responsibilities- Credit assessment and appraisal of obligors across Wholesale Banking, Treasury, Financial Institutions, Cross-Border, Mid Corporate, and Commercial sectors.
- Implementing and administering the bank's credit policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring adherence to internal standards, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Leading initiatives to enhance credit processes, automate workflows, and improve turnaround times for credit decisions.
- Overseeing credit appraisal, loan review, compliance with policies, and adherence to regulatory requirements for the bank's credit portfolio.
- Postgraduate or equivalent qualification (e.g., MBA, Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CFA).
- Minimum 15-20 years of extensive experience in the banking or financial sector, with substantial expertise in credit underwriting and management, particularly in the UAE.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence decision-making at the executive level.
- Knowledge of local and regional legal procedures related to lending and debt recovery, with a strong understanding of operational, legal, market, and regulatory risks.
