Regional Coordinator Election

The Space Generation Advisory Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated young space leader to serve as the next Regional Coordinator for the Middle East region. This two-year volunteer role offers a chance to lead, be responsible for the voice of the next generation of young space leaders in the Middle East region.

About the Role

The Regional Coordinator sits on the SGAC Executive Committee and represents the views of their region. She/he coordinates activities, oversees the work of National Points of Contact, and has votes on SGAC matters at the Executive Committee level.

This is a voluntary role with no monetary compensation. Active members of SGAC teams are considered for nomination for SGAC Scholarships and Awards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Oversee regional planning and activities
  2. Coordinate with co-RC on a weekly basis
  3. Represent the region at SGAC Executive Committee meetings
  4. Maintain regular communication with co-Chairs and attend regional meetings
  5. Submit a regional work plan and annual report
  6. Recruit new NPoCs and mentor them
  7. Act as advisers for local events organized by NPoCs
  8. Activate regional and local partnerships to achieve SGAC goals

This role requires strong leadership skills, teamwork capacity, and a working knowledge of computer applications. The selected candidate will also have professional fluency in English and awareness of international cooperation principles.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Citizenship of a UN member or observer state located in the region
  • Aged between 18 and 33 (applications from those above 33 may be accepted)
  • Secure nomination of two National Points of Contact in the region
  • Regionally based or willing to relocate
  • Experience in the space sector and teamwork capacity
