Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Protection Officer to join our team at Kenyon Block Consultants. The successful candidate will have recent experience of working in air quality and Local Air Pollution Prevention, with the ability to demonstrate partnership working with DEFRA and with Part IIa issues.

Responsibilities:

  1. Developing policies and procedures for environmental protection
  2. Dealing with planning applications and managing local air quality
  3. Noise management and private water supplies
  4. Leading on engagement with local communities and other stakeholders

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing reports, taking appropriate action, and implementing performance management systems to ensure accurate monitoring of the work of the service. They will also be expected to develop Service Plans, risk registers, policies, procedures and update risk assessments by working within the relevant legislation.

Requirements:

  • Degree in an Environmental Sciences related subject or equivalent
  • Recognised management qualification (ILM or similar/equivalent)
  • Post graduate qualification in Acoustics, Environmental Health Degree (desirable)

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. At least three years demonstrable management experience, leading a team
  2. Previous experience of working for a local government environment in a small team
  3. Experience of liaison with external agencies to facilitate joint working
