Job Overview:

This HSE Officer role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental plans by addressing on-site health and safety issues.

  • Develop and maintain a robust site health and safety culture through leadership and effective communication.

  • Prepare risk assessments and JSAs to mitigate potential hazards and ensure compliance.

  • Conduct new employee orientations and document necessary information.

  • Conduct daily site visits and log observations to identify potential risks.

  • E nsure non-routine and potentially hazardous jobs are carried out under the permit-to-work system with associated certificates.

  • Report unsafe conditions and acts promptly to prevent accidents and incidents.

  • Identify hazards, control measures, and prevention methods, and present findings in weekly meetings.

  • Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and prepare reports.

  • Conduct health and safety training sessions, meetings, campaigns, award functions, and drills to promote a safety culture.

  • Collaborate with consultants and subcontractors for improved HSE during weekly site visits.

  • Prepare statistics reports to track performance and progress.

  • Present HSSE performance reviews to stakeholders.

  • Implement and monitor fire prevention systems.

  • Aim for zero accidents by continually improving HSE protocols.

  • Develop and implement emergency response procedures.

  • Verify equipment is safe for use and educate workers on proper usage.

  • Educate workers to ensure equipment is properly maintained.

Key Requirements:
  1. NEBOSH certification
  2. Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant field
  3. Minimum 2 years of experience as a safety officer in construction/rope access
  4. Knowledge of local safety regulations and standards
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively
