Job Title: Senior Process Simulation Optimization Engineer

MatchaTalent is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Simulation Optimization Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for streamlining process simulation and optimization objectives with corporate goals and developing best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Simulation and Optimization: Develop and lead process simulation models for refineries and NGL fractionations using dynamic or steady-state simulation software applications.
  • Model Development and Verification: Perform process simulations and modeling using specialized software tools to analyze refinery processes and optimize their performance. Verify simulation model accuracy by comparing results with actual plant data and conducting sensitivity analyses.
  • Process Improvement and Optimization: Identify areas for process improvements and propose modifications or optimizations to increase efficiency, reduce costs, or meet regulatory requirements.
  • Feasibility Studies and Analysis: Conduct feasibility studies for performance improvement to increase yields and operational efficiency. Analyze chronic problems and debottleneck complex models to enhance process operations and economic benefits.
  • Safety Assessments and Technical Sessions: Conduct safety assessments to evaluate the impact of potential process changes or plant modifications. Lead technical sessions such as design reviews, model reviews, and commissioning.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise to operating facilities' Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams through consulting, awareness sessions, and participation in technical exchanges and conferences.
  • Process Simulation Technologies: Conduct benchmarks, business case studies, and pilot evaluations of process simulation technologies. Review standards and General Instructions for the GME departments and act as a leading Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate simulation results, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Development: Collaborate with other engineers, researchers, and vendors to contribute to the development of new simulation software tools, methodologies, and techniques.
