Alec Fitout, a part of the Alec Group, specializes in delivering exceptional fit-out and refurbishment services to 5-star hotels and resorts, as well as cultural and luxury mixed-use developments in the MENA region.

Our team utilizes our extensive local and international supply chain, coupled with our in-house network of specialist contractors, to offer a complete interior solution that encompasses project management, engineering, value engineering, design-build, procurement, and fit-out services.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Architect to join our team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating design activities from initiation to closeout, ensuring adherence to project schedule, specifications, and drawings.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan design activities; prepare a comprehensive schedule of all planned drawing submittals based on the project schedule in coordination with the Design Manager.
  • Verify and ensure the detailed drawing schedule from the subcontractor is in compliance with the project drawing schedule.
  • Review technical queries/clarifications from the subcontractor, prepare clarification, and raise relevant queries/clarifications to the Design Manager. Review clarifications from the consultant and transmit to all interfacing subcontractors as per the Design Manager's direction.
  • Coordinate/follow up with subcontractors to ensure drawing submittals are completed as per schedule. Coordinate with subcontractors, Project team, and consultants for completing the design activities of the project as per schedule.
  • Review subcontractor's drawings for accuracy, quality, and incorporation of relevant information, raise clarifications/queries to the subcontractor if required within 2 days.
  • Review coordinated drawings with draftsmen to ensure the accuracy of the drawing and incorporation of relevant information.
  • Review design calculations from subcontractor for accuracy and incorporation of relevant information.
  • Review consultant's approval/comments on the drawing submittals and forward the submittals to the subcontractor as per the Design Manager's direction.
  • Provide weekly/monthly progress report with weekly/monthly look ahead to design Manager.
  • Develop drawings for various temporary facilities, logistics-related designs as per the direction from the Design manager.
  • Prepare/organize drawings for Authority's approval as per Design Manager's direction.
  • Review red line drawings and as-built drawings from subcontractors for accuracy and incorporation of relevant information.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma qualification in design/architectural studies.
  • Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience in fit-out works.
  • Sound knowledge of key design software such as Staad, Prokon, Etab.
  • Sound knowledge and experience with AutoCAD, MS Office & Adobe Acrobat.
