Job Title: Institutional Effectiveness Advisor/Accreditation Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Institutional Effectiveness Advisor/Accreditation Specialist to join our team at Karlstad University. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking the college accreditation process and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of supporting documentation and other accreditation progress reports as required.
  • Conduct a range of academic functions in support of the university's mission, including supporting the building of institutional capacity, and providing advice and assistance to faculty and staff as required.
  • Act as the Security Assistance lead for the accreditation of the university; provide mentoring while attending meetings, preparing briefings, writing update reports and all associated papers.
  • Support the implementation of the strategic plan for accreditation of the university through, for example, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
  • Participate in the Commission on Colleges, including attending meetings and preparing and delivering papers in support of accreditation and related subject matters.
  • Support university activities in general to secure accreditation of the awarding of masters and doctoral degrees, in support of the university's mission.
  • Assist in the production of work plans and budget estimates for the university accreditation process.
  • Contribute to the development of academic policies and directives at the university.
  • Serve as a faculty member.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Ph.D. is desired; applicants shall possess at a minimum a Master's Degree in an applicable field, from an accredited university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Experience: Must have at least three (3) years of recent academic accreditation experience; teaching experience at an accredited university/college would be a plus. Substantial professional or academic background in the development of curriculum and, in particular, accreditation, is highly desired. Advanced communication and writing skills and insight into higher education are required.
