About the Role

As a Lead Geotechnical Consultant at Zutari, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team, working alongside seasoned geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled team to deliver innovative geotechnical solutions.
  • Engage in a combination of technical execution and project oversight, with a strong emphasis on analytical problem-solving and design.
  • Coordinate with various design disciplines to ensure seamless integration of project components.
  • Play a pivotal role in securing new projects for the geotechnical division while fostering robust client relationships.
  • Utilize your expertise to introduce fresh perspectives and methodologies in addressing intricate ground challenges.
  • Guarantee the timely completion of geotechnical project deliverables, adhering to established scope and budget constraints.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of project objectives and stakeholder expectations, effectively managing client relationships to ensure satisfaction.
  • Act as a collaborative team member, willing to engage across diverse disciplines and international locations.
  • Independently resolve project-related challenges.
  • Provide mentorship to junior geotechnical and geology professionals.
  • Assist in business development initiatives to expand the firm's reach.
  • Inspire the project team towards achieving defined goals by fostering enthusiasm and maintaining a vested interest in project outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BEng or BSc degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer registration or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS or GeoStudio.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering is highly advantageous.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Thorough understanding of soil and rock mechanics is essential.
  • Extensive experience in designing foundations for structures, slope stabilization, ground improvement, earthworks, and retention systems.
  • Familiarity with foundation and pile design, settlement analysis, earth pressure calculations, slope stability assessments, and bearing capacity evaluations is beneficial.
  • Expertise in geotechnical analysis and design methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in applying advanced analysis techniques and software for geotechnical assessments.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
