Job Description

To provide a range of reception services and administrative support to ensure a seamless experience for incoming patients.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and arrange insurance claim forms for doctors' files, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of patient records at all times, adhering to hospital policies and regulations.
  3. Cater to the needs of all incoming patients, providing exceptional customer service with or without appointments.
  4. Register new patients, explaining the Patient & Family Bill of Rights & Responsibilities, and ensuring accurate documentation.
  5. Record and manage incoming messages for doctors, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  6. Provide accurate information and referrals to patients, either within the organization or externally.
  7. Participate in regular staff educational conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
  8. Take on assigned duties with varying timings, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  9. Develop and maintain a feedback and complaint procedure for customers, ensuring prompt resolution.
  10. Facilitate efficient flow of visitors and patients, creating a welcoming environment with outstanding customer service.
  11. Inform patients about medical insurance coverage, verifying eligibility online before scheduling appointments.
  12. Investigate concerns and implement appropriate actions, maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction.
  13. Perform duties related to patient/telephone/back office work, utilizing multitasking skills effectively.
  14. Daily audit insurance claims to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  15. Count and reconcile cash drawers at the start of each shift, confirming the amount is correct.
  16. Compute and record transaction totals, accurately managing financial transactions.
  17. Collect payments from patients using various methods, including cash, cheque, credit card, and vouchers.
  18. Verify insurance card validity, coverage, and approval status, checking doctor and patient signatures and eligibility on claim forms.
  19. Issue receipts and detailed summaries of bills, providing transparent communication.
  20. Submit previous day's collections to the accounts department, maintaining a smooth workflow.
  21. Work flexible shifts as scheduled by the Head of Department, demonstrating commitment to team success.
  22. Adhere strictly to hospital regulations and policies, prioritizing infection control and patient safety.
  23. Support Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives and participate in quality assurance activities.
  24. Attend scheduled in-service training programs, enhancing professional growth and development.
  25. Maintain effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues, associates, and management, promoting a positive work environment.
  26. Confidentiality is maintained as per the agreement signed, upholding professional integrity.
  27. Listen actively to others, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  28. Understand hospital policies and procedures thoroughly, demonstrating respect for organizational standards.
  29. Carry out additional duties as requested by the Head of Department, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
