Job Title: Head of Retail Middle East Africa

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our retail operations in the Middle East and Africa region. As Head of Retail MEA, you will be responsible for driving business growth, improving sales performance, and enhancing customer experience across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Budgeting and Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement annual budgets, ensuring alignment with HQ objectives and maximizing returns on investment.
  • Regional Strategy: Work with the Regional Director and individual Managers to develop and execute a regional strategy, aligned with the company's overall ambitions.
  • Sales and KPIs: Ensure the achievement of business goals in terms of sales and KPIs, guaranteeing the achievement of sales plans and cost budgets while improving manpower-related cost efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build a strong network with local and/or country stakeholders to enhance new business opportunities and drive growth.
  • Market Development: Identify potential retail locations and opportunities for store development, negotiate terms, and maintain relationships with landlords.
  • Operational Excellence: Work with ME&A Operations teams to deliver premium quality service, supporting, coaching, and developing store management to drive sales and meet key performance indicators while managing expenses to increase profitability.
  • Talent Development: Ensure, through mentoring and leadership, the development of existing staff and recruitment of external talent to drive sales and meet key performance indicators.
  • Business Measurements: Oversee business measurements, including traffic, conversion, units per transaction, sell-through, sales vs. plan, gross margin, and productivity per sq. ft.
  • Inventory Management: Liaise with Operations to ensure efficient order taking and processing stocks to guarantee optimum inventory at stores.
  • Store Visits: Visit stores regularly to identify areas for development, create action plans for the Operations Team, and ensure clear objectives, deliverables, timelines, and follow-ups.
  • Brand Image: Enhance Brand Image through VM, merchandising, sales staff grooming across stores.
  • Stakeholder Partnerships: Partner with key stakeholders in Regional Office and Group Head Office to ensure support to the needs of the Market.
  • Industry Trends: Monitor, report, and adjust to trends and risks of the footwear industry across ME&A.
  • Leadership: Maintain a positive attitude and provide leadership by example in line with ECCO's values and leadership principles.
