Role Overview

The Patient Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients visiting our facility. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of patient information and facilitating efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Registration: Accurately registers all outpatients upon arrival in accordance with established protocols.
  • Confidentiality Maintenance: Upholds patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Document Verification: Ensures the identification of valid patient documents, such as EID or Passport.
  • Insurance Eligibility: Verifies eligibility for insurance coverage prior to service provision.
  • Appointment Management: Schedules, reschedules, cancels, and confirms outpatient and medical services as necessary.
  • Payment Processing: Initiates the registration process accurately for both insured and self-paying patients, including the collection of payments such as cash, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-payments.
  • Coordination: Collaborates with nursing and other departments to address patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Delay Notifications: Communicates with patients regarding any delays in diagnostic or treatment services.
  • Patient Direction: Guides patients to the appropriate clinics or areas within the facility.
  • Documentation Submission: Submits all relevant documents related to cash collections and refunds to the Chief Cashier.
  • Record Maintenance: Keeps accurate records for any service authentications provided by higher officials, ensuring reports are forwarded to the Billing Supervisor.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Completes daily reconciliation of cash and credit card collections prior to closing, reporting any discrepancies to the Chief Cashier.
  • Cash Handling: Ensures that cash collections are deposited in the Main Cash Box according to individual collection reports.
  • Document Rectification: Works with the clinic and service units to rectify any documents and reports requested by the Back Office Claims Submission Team.
  • Training Assistance: Aids in the training of new employees as directed by the supervisor.
  • Insurance Knowledge: Possesses knowledge of insurance protocols and coordinates with the insurance department and clinic for service pre-authorization.
  • Medical Terminology: Has a basic understanding of medical terminology relevant to front office operations.
