Airport Cargo Loader Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and physically fit Airport Cargo Loader to join our team at Asterix Communications. As an Airport Cargo Loader, you will be responsible for loading and unloading cargo from aircraft, ensuring that all items are handled safely and efficiently.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Load and unload cargo from aircraft, trucks, and other transportation vehicles, ensuring proper handling and placement to prevent damage.
* Sort and organize cargo based on destination and priority, securing cargo using nets, straps, and other tie-downs to prevent shifting during transit.
* Verify and record cargo quantities and conditions upon arrival and departure.
* Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and conduct pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure safe functioning.
* Accurately complete cargo documentation, including loading manifests and inventory logs, and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other airport staff.
* Follow established procedures and schedules to meet flight deadlines, and assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area.
* Provide courteous and professional service to airline staff, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders, addressing and resolving any issues related to cargo handling promptly.

**Qualifications:**

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Valid driver's license.
* Experience in cargo handling, warehouse operations, or a similar physical labor role preferred.
* Ability to operate forklifts and other cargo handling equipment (certification may be required).
* Basic understanding of cargo documentation and procedures.
* Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 70 lbs).

**Working Conditions:**

* Exposure to various weather conditions as the role involves working outdoors.
* Shift work, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
* High noise levels due to aircraft operations.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Certification in forklift operation.
* Previous experience in an airport or aviation environment.
* Familiarity with airport safety and security protocols.
