Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead our express operations team and drive productivity and resource optimization to meet operational goals. The successful candidate will ensure that quality, safety, and regulatory standards are maintained while implementing operational strategies, policies, and procedures to achieve service quality and revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve service quality and revenue objectives
  • Manage top-line express operational activities and enable the right people with the right skills to accomplish the work
  • Provide leadership and direction to the express operations team in areas such as performance management, upskilling, and recognizing development needs
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external departments to positively enable department objectives
  • Evaluate team performance against established goals and objectives and provide meaningful and constructive feedback
  • Manage conduct and conflict within the team in line with relevant policies and procedures
  • Lead monthly team meetings to ensure safety, security, and regulatory standards are applied without compromise
  • Investigate and address safety incidents and accidents, ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations
  • Prepare daily hub operations and express hub service level reports and recommend changes to maintain and continuously improve express service delivery
  • Recommend changes to Standard Operating Procedures as appropriate and encourage teams to participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure all deviations are handled, recorded, and escalated as per controlled documents and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Provide operational policy guidelines to express operations staff to ensure uniformity of courier and express operations standards
  • Ensure that GHA and other service suppliers/partners are fully briefed regarding Emirates requirements and service levels
  • Develop and implement revenue-generating strategies for express-related operational activities
  • Manage various administrative functions and interact with governmental authorities for licensing and compliance with legal procedures and documentation
Requirements
  • 8 years of experience in express/courier/logistics operations, with at least 5 years at a supervisory/management level
  • Knowledge of global express operations, local area cargo environment, and customs formalities
  • Proven ability to lead and develop staff
  • PC-based skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email
  • Fluency in English and the language of the country you are working in
