**Key Responsibilities**:

- ** Design, Construction, and Acquisition**:

- Lead and manage the design, construction, and integration of naval weapons systems, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Oversee the acquisition process for naval weapons, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and procurement.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operational teams to ensure the successful execution of weapons system projects from concept to deployment.
- ** Operation and Maintenance Oversight**:

- Oversee the operational aspects of naval weapons systems, ensuring they are maintained and operated at optimal performance levels.
- Develop and implement best practices for the operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of naval weapons systems, covering surface, air, and subsurface platforms.
- Monitor the performance of weapons systems, recommending and implementing necessary upgrades or modifications to meet operational needs.
- ** Strategic Planning and Contract Management**:

- Develop and execute strategic plans for the procurement and management of naval weapons contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and mission objectives.
- Draft and review detailed contract specifications, ensuring clarity and compliance with technical requirements and operational expectations.
- Conduct in-depth price and cost analysis of contracts, ensuring competitive pricing and optimal value for the organization.
- ** Quality Assurance and Compliance**:

- Ensure all naval weapons systems projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with contractual specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives based on audit results and performance assessments.
- ** Vendor and Stakeholder Management**:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and other key stakeholders involved in naval weapons systems projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to naval weapons contracts, including negotiations, issue resolution, and performance monitoring.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning to final deployment.
- ** Financial and Risk Management**:

- Perform comprehensive financial analysis and budgeting for naval weapons systems projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with the design, construction, acquisition, and operation of naval weapons systems.
- Prepare and present detailed financial and technical reports to senior management and other stakeholders, outlining project progress, challenges, and recommendations.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Weapons Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience in the design, construction, acquisition, and operation of naval weapons systems, including surface, air, and subsurface platforms.
- Expertise in contract management, including strategic planning, specification writing, quality assurance, and cost analysis.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in naval weapons systems engineering.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is highly desirable.
