Aldar Education is currently seeking a **General Manager - Aldar Trainign Academy** to support our growing family of owned and operated schools in the UAE. Due to planned current and future expansion we are looking to add to our Team supporting our British, US and IB curricula network of schools.
**Job Purpose**
- To embody the values, vision and ethos of Aldar Education and ATA and to work and align with the Academic Director in creating policies which will ensure high quality and successful outcomes for all ATA services.
- To take responsibility for the creation and development of the ATA business and strategic objectives and outcomes
- To develop a business and strategic plan for ATA - short, medium and long term
- To proactively pursue new business and sales opportunities for ATA
- To build and maintain existing and new client relations
- Directing and coordinating all sales activities locally and internationally
- Creating and preparing budgets, projections and approving budgets in alignment with the Academic Director
- Analysis and oversight of accounting and financial data
- Ensure the delivery of new products, services and business capability from the ATA workstream and provide new projects on time and within budget, in accordance with ATA business and strategic aims.
- To manage business risk and plan for contingencies to ensure mínimal impact on services, establishing clear and transparent lines of communication processes to escalate or de-escalate, manage and resolve issues.
- To develop Aldar Training Academy (ATA) business model internally and externally by actively promoting and adding to ATA services portfolio.
- To support the Academic Director in achieving the key business and training objectives of Aldar Training Academy.
- To seek and pursue strategic partnerships for ATA to enhance the quality and reputation of courses offered.
- To expand the customer base for ATA by actively approaching educational institutions, establishing commercial partnerships locally and internationally based on a profit-sharing model.
- To work alongside the Academic Director to provide educational services to government educational entities.
- To coordinate and liaise with the AE procurement and finance teams to set up ATA service charging mechanisms to AE schools.
- To liaise and coordinate with finance the management of ATA resources, budgets, income and expenditure providing updates to relevant ATA and AE stakeholders.
- To promote ATA and raise its profile in Abu Dhabi and beyond.
- To model the values and vision of ATA and Aldar Education.
- To be a role model to staff and students.
- To have high expectations of all staff and students.
- Identify professional development needs for yourself and those you line manage or work with and address with CPD.
- To undertake and carry out any other such comparable duties commensurate with the grade of the post, as required by your Line Manager and /or the Directors of Education as they occur.
- To lead by example to always maintain a high standard of professionalism.
**Main Duties**
- Secure strategic partnerships locally and internationally with accreditation boards government authorities, and educational training institutes.
- Assess potential needs of Aldar sister companies and put in place a plan to meet those needs and expand the customer base of ATA
- Expand the teacher training programmes by partnering with other colleges, universities, and government entities.
- Secure requirements and expertise to fulfil needs of expanded customer base
- Audit current ATA programmes and identify gaps in quality of provision across schools locally, nationally and internationally.
- Draw up a comprehensive 3-5 year business plan in line with agreed outcomes to specific AE timeframes and which are agreed by AE/ATA Boards
- Seek along with the Academic Director accreditation for ATT ITT programmes with MOE and appropriate bodies.
- Quality assure and design brand/marketing collateral for various audiences
- Develop action plans to address audit recommendations
- Identify budget streams and plans to be approved each year and subsequent financial years.
- Develop delivery partnerships to ensure ‘exclusivity” to ATA and reduce external competition.
- Review and update branding and markets in conjunction with the AE marketing department.
- Third Parties and Commercial Awareness
- Co-ordinate and liaise with the Procurement team as needed throughout Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and Award
- Negotiate effectively with Third Party offering diverse range of products/services for Change Requests (CR) or Variation Orders (VO) during implementations
- Commercially manage Third Party resources to ensure optimum results and value add during implementation
- Build effective relationships with Third Party resources at all levels quickly and be able to influence and navigate accordingly to secure required commercial / resource / technical support
