As part of the Bank’s Business Continuity and Incident (BCIM) programme, all businesses and functions are required to have appropriate Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and resilience which is reviewed regularly and tested by the Corporate Services BCIM team. The BCIM Team is also responsible for Major Incident Management (MIM) which involves responding to crisis scenarios related to loss of staff, building, and key dependencies such as IT services and 3rd-party suppliers.

The Manager BCIM UAE is responsible for working with businesses and functions to ensure that plans and arrangements are fit for purpose and that any issues identified are promptly resolved. The role involves providing advice and guidance to assigned businesses/functions on all aspects of Business Continuity Planning. It also involves designing, developing, and implementing training programmes and quality assurance programmes and conducting briefings and reviews as necessary

**Key responsibilities**

As the **Manager BCIM UAE, **the** **role holder will drive continuous improvement across the BCIM structure in the areas such as Governance and Risk operations, Change execution, day to day BAU activities and people including:

- Primarily accountable and responsible to guide and facilitate BCIM activities within the bank.
- Development of seamless BCIM framework for the bank operations, including the remote offices.
- Scoping, designing and implementing customised BCIM solutions to ensure planning our response against specific and situational crisis scenarios.
- Providing advice, guidance and oversight to Global Businesses/Functions (GBs/GFs) in respect of business continuity plans and arrangements. This includes ensuring the Business Continuity and Incident Management standards and procedures are appropriately embedded within GBs/GFs, identifying and highlighting risks for management attention and recommending remedial actions.
- Provide guidance and support to the Major Incident Group (MIG)and Business Continuity Coordinators during crisis.
- Ensure monitoring and coordinate timely response over the crisis incidents reported. Representation into the Local MIG
- Providing advice, guidance and oversight to Global Businesses/Functions (GBs/GFs) in respect of business continuity plans and arrangements. This includes ensuring the Business Continuity and Incident Management standards are appropriately embedded within GBs/GFs, identifying and highlighting risks for management attention and recommending remedial actions.
- Producing training programmes and arranging briefings to Business Continuity coordinators and other stakeholders in Global Businesses/Functions to ensure that they have the skills to perform their roles effectively.
- Maintain a current and in depth knowledge of the BCIM tools, including Everbridge, BCMNow, etc.
- BCIM Risk and Control Operations - Be knowledgeable on BCIM policies including Policies and Procedures, BCIM DIM, draft any country DIMs as required. Work with Line Manager and BCIM team to ensure HSBC policies and procedures are complied with. These include, but not limited to, FCC, Legal, Finance, HR, Information Risk, and Supplier Management.
- Internal Governance: Responsible for ensuring best practice Governance principles are developed and embedded across country BCIM and that issues are identified and remediated promptly. Ensure TOR is maintained, meeting materials are delivered to agreed timescales and meeting minutes are concise and well written.
- Relationship Management - develop and maintain positive and professional working relationships with all BCIM stakeholders i.e. management and staff at all levels within GBs/GFs.
- Support functions: e.g. CS for an understanding of the real estate environment and how any changes may relate or impact recovery arrangements, DBS in relation to IT service resilience and Procurement in relation to Critical Vendors.
- Primarily accountable and responsible to guide and facilitate BCIM activities within the bank.
- Development of seamless BCIM framework for the bank operations, including the remote offices.
- Oversight and guidance provided to Business Continuity Coordinators and stakeholders within GBs/GFs.
- Works closely with the Regional Head of BCIM to ensure that all new initiatives/requirements are fully understood and implemented in relevant GBs/GFs.
- Works closely with other BCIM Managers across MENAT Region to ensure consistency of approach; and may be required to act as trainer for any new BCIM Manager
