Job Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
**Pastry Preparation**: Prepare and produce a wide range of pastry items, including but not limited to desserts, pastries, breads, cakes, and plated desserts, in accordance with established recipes and standards.
**Creative Input**: Collaborate with the pastry team and the executive chef to develop new pastry items, seasonal specials, and innovative presentations that align with the restaurant's concept and vision.
**Quality Control**: Ensure that all pastry items leaving the kitchen are of the highest quality in terms of taste, texture, and presentation. Conduct regular quality checks to maintain consistency.
**Station Management**: Oversee and manage the pastry station, including organization, cleanliness, and proper utilization of equipment. Maintain a tidy and efficient workstation throughout service.
**Recipe Adherence**: Follow standardized recipes and techniques to maintain consistency in taste and presentation. Additionally, contribute to the creation and refinement of recipe cards as needed.
**Training and Development**:Assist in training junior pastry staff members, imparting pastry skills, techniques, and knowledge to ensure a cohesive and skilled team.
**Ordering and Inventory**:Participate in inventory management by monitoring pastry ingredient levels, placing orders, and minimizing wastage.
**Adherence to Safety and Hygiene**: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring that the pastry station complies with health regulations and guidelines.
**Efficiency and Speed**:Execute pastry dishes efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining high standards and minimizing wait times for customers.
**Collaboration**: Communicate effectively with the pastry team, as well as other kitchen staff, to ensure smooth operations and efficient service.
- Qualifications:
- Proven experience working in a pastry-focused role within a professional kitchen environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification in pastry and baking arts is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, chocolate work, sugar work, and dessert plating.
- Creativity and ability to conceptualize and execute innovative pastry offerings.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and techniques.
**Salary**: From AED4,000.00 per month
