RESPONSIBILITIES

RESPONSIBILITIES

To assist the Senior Leadership Team in shaping a vision and direction for the phase, setting out very high expectations with a clear focus on pupil achievement, standards and quality of teaching.
To inspire, motivate, empower and influence staff and students within the phase team, taking a leading role in maintaining the highest standards of learning, teaching and behaviour management.
To provide an excellent role model for all members of staff and for students in all aspects of school life.
To have a dynamic solution-based approach to leadership.
To play a significant role in implementing, reviewing and measuring impact of the whole School Evaluation and School Improvement Plan (SIP) and effectively ensure a SIP is in place for the phase.
To monitor, evaluate and review learning, teaching, curriculum and assessment through formal and informal book looks, learning walks and observations.
To make a significant contribution to the school’s continuing professional development programme, delivering PD and working with individuals and teams in a variety of professional development activities.
To use data analysis, student Progress Meetings and relevant assessment information to set targets for improvement across the phase and analyse the impact of this.
To coordinate and support in the delivery of the intervention programme within the Phase and review and evaluate the impact of this.
To monitor and promote excellent attendance and punctuality of all students in the Phase.
To monitor, evaluate and review learning, teaching, curriculum and assessment through formal and informal book looks, learning walks and observations.
To work with the inclusion team to identify and monitor students with SEN and those who are Gifted and Talented to ensure they receive the appropriate support.
To have responsibility for the effective line management of the Grade Group Leaders, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities and fulfil these to a high standard.
To quality assure all pastoral care and the monitoring of behaviour, rewards and consequences in line with school policy within the Phase.
To work collaboratively with other phase leaders, ensuring an understanding of whole school issues.
To lead on a whole school area of responsibility, agreed in consultation with Line Manager and based on needs of SIP.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

KG - Bachelor's degree in early Years Education or alternate BA/B.Sc degree with PGCE, showing a specialism in Early Years or equivalent Teaching Qualification is essential.

**Desirable**: A Master’s degree

Elementary - bachelor's degree in education or alternate BA/B.Sc degree with PGCE, or equivalent Teaching Qualification is essential.

**Desirable**: A Master’s degree

Minimum Experience

6-years’ experience of which 4 consecutive years teaching performance exceeds standards and expectations as evidenced by performance appraisal.
Leadership experience is desirable
Experience of working in US Curriculum is desirable.
