Burj Al Arab is designed to resemble a billowing sail and stands at a height of 321 meters. It is one of the most Photographed structures in the world and has been consistently voted the world's most luxurious hotel, with features including in suite check-in and check-out reception desks on every floor, round-the-clock private butlers and use of the hotel's Rolls-Royce fleet. the hotel's 202 luxury suites range from 170 to 780 square meters with a rain shower and a Jacuzzi in each suite, as well as six restaurants and conference and banqueting Venues.

**About the role**:
An opportunity has arisen for Sommelier in the F&B department at Burj Al Arab.

Your duties will include the following:

- Drive beverage revenue in the outlets and maintain beverage cost within budget by effective up selling.
- Control and monitor wine orders, stock and par level in his outlet
- Maintain wine chillier at correct temperature.
- Maintain temperature records.
- Create and maintain up to date wine list as per Burj Al Arab standards after coordination with outlet managers, head sommelier and assistant head sommelier
- Stock rotation update.
- Minimize wastage by avoiding too many opened bottles.
- Ensure all tables are attended during the service, refilling and fresh orders are taken throughout.
- Train all F&B team members on existing and new products, as well as selling techniques and any other necessary beverage trainings.
- Build rapport with teams to enhance team work and smooth operation.
- Ensure 100% contribution to LQA standards.
- Attend outlet briefings.
- Report feedbacks and suggestions to head sommelier and outlet managers.
- Change and update relevant outlet menus.
- Send updates of the availabilities and non-availabilities.
- Ensure wine cabinets are well arranged and kept clean all the time.
- Attend wine fairs, exhibitions.
- Assist with orientation of new team members with regard to departmental training.
- Attend training and development as needed.
- Attend Tasting classes with the sommelier team or suppliers at the hotel for further developing his tasting skills and understanding of wines of the World
- Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.
