**Job Description**:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Animal Keeper to join our team in Abu Dhabi. As an Assistant Animal Keeper, you will play a vital role in the care and welfare of our animal residents, ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with a variety of animals and contribute to their enrichment and daily care.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in the daily feeding and watering of animals, following established dietary requirements and schedules.
- Clean and maintain animal enclosures, habitats, and living areas to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
- Provide environmental enrichment and mental stimulation for animals through the implementation of enrichment activities and programs.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns or abnormalities to senior staff members.
- Assist with the handling and restraint of animals during veterinary procedures, training sessions, or public interactions.
- Assist with the transportation of animals to and from off-site locations, such as veterinary appointments or public events.
- Prepare and distribute bedding materials, nesting materials, and other supplies to animals as needed.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of animal enclosures, equipment, and facilities.
- Participate in educational presentations and demonstrations for visitors, schools, and other groups, under the guidance of senior staff.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, feeding schedules, health observations, and enrichment activities.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience working with animals, such as volunteering at animal shelters, farms, or zoos, is preferred but not required.
- Genuine passion for animals and a desire to work in a hands-on role.
- Basic knowledge of animal behavior, welfare principles, and husbandry practices.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the physical demands of the role, including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Must be willing to reside in company-provided accommodation.
- Must have legal eligibility to work in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
