**Advanced Materials Research Centre**

New materials and manufacturing technologies together can enable major new breakthroughs in performance and capability for various sectors like energy, space, aerospace, biomedical, and defense among others. In our Advanced Materials Centre, we have nine teams focusing on Energy Storage Materials, Nanomaterials, Self-healing materials, Smart materials and structures, Meta materials, Energy-absorbing materials and structures, Additive manufacturing / 3D printing, High-temperature thermoplastic composites, and Simulation.

We are looking for a capable electrochemistry-focused researcher to join our team. This role will be based within the energy storage materials (ESM) team in the Advanced Materials Research Centre. The ESM team’s scope spans the functionalization and the optimization of energy materials, including characterization, processes, and design. Working in the ESM team, you will gain rich experience, not only in this exciting field but also from collaborations with our multi-disciplinary research center and national and international academic and industrial partners.
- Conducting successful original Electrochemical materials research and development
- Operating and managing electrochemical equipment (Biologic/Autolab knowledge preferred)
- Protocol design for energy storage device testing, including 2- and 3- electrodes geometries
- EIS data analysis and model formalization
- Slurry formulation and manufacturing for coin and pouch cells
- Compiling data into reports and preparing operational protocols for developed techniques
- Identifying required consumables and taking initiative in finding suppliers
- Presenting research findings at national and international conferences, as well as meetings with partners
- Publishing scientific papers in high-impact journals

**Skills Required**:

- Post-graduate degree in electrochemistry, or material science, or equivalent relevant discipline
- Post-doctoral experience (min 1 year) in electrochemistry or equivalent discipline
- Hands-on experience on battery and supercapacitor testing is essential
- Knowledge of data analysis software packages is essential
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information with clarity
- A good scientific profile of high-impact factor peer-reviewed journal publications is a plus
- Experience of working in or with industry preferred
- A track-record of delivering projects of an innovative or R&D nature

**Qualifications**

To qualify for this position, you will need to meet the following requirements:

- PhD/MSc degree in Material Science, Chemistry or relevant fields
