**JOB SUMMARY**

As a Coffee Professional, the incumbent will play a rare role blending culinary arts with extraordinary service. The Coffee Professional will be responsible for promoting coffee consumption by educating customers, selling coffee and coffee grinding and brewing equipment, health & safety standards, standards for speed, quality, and consistency with a high level of customer service and guest relations.

The Coffee Professional will provide exemplary customer service in training, calibration, operate coffee equipment like an artist, all while following standards for Coffee Planet product.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

The role will include but not be limited to:
**Supporting the Sales Team**:

- Advise customers on Coffee Planet products and services.
- Cleaning, preparation, and calibration of existing coffee machines on site for the best quality coffee pour.
- Maintaining and using your barista kit as appropriate to clean and prepare great coffees.
- Preparation of a wide range of coffees ensuring they meet Coffee Planet taste and quality standards as agreed by the Training Manager.
- Ensuring the highest standards of presentation of the coffees to the client (including appropriate crockery is used for each drink, no splash marks on the cups, latte art when necessary, silverware when appropriate, presented on a tray with appropriate condiments).
- Providing the client with an explanation of each coffee they will taste detailing the preparation technique, the design of the coffee as well as the origins and taste profiles they should expect. Knowledge of all the blends used in the Foodservice division is critical.
- Cleaning and leaving the space as you found it to ensure no disruption of the operations for the client’s outlet.
- Assisting the Sales Team members and technicians with any required installations of equipment as part of the demonstration and ensuring the best calibration is provided.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and be able to sell up, cross-sell and make recommendations in reaction to guest queries on site.
- Lead and create the ultimate coffee experience and transform our potential/existing customers into long time partners.
- Food and drink preparation to defined recipe standard.
- Introduce customers to our various coffee selections through engaging them in the art of coffee tasting - where possible.
- Deliver the highest levels of customer service for both food and beverage, in line with the Brand standards and recipes.
- Maintain stock availability and manage wastage levels.
- Maintain a clean environment for guests and colleagues alike.
- Work in line with designated shifts.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Ability to work unsupervised as per the working schedule from time to time.

**Development of coffee blends**:

- Working with the Sales Team liaising with the Coffee Planet Roastery to ensure quality and consistency is maintained in the range of blends.
- Maintenance of the Showroom equipment.
- Ensuring that the equipment in the CP Head Office Showroom is always maintained and calibrated efficiently in preparation for any meetings.

**Personal Development**
- It will be your responsibility to keep learning through liaising with the Technical Services Department, Field Operations staff, Training Department and the Roastery as well as the Sales Team to continually increase your knowledge of coffee and equipment to continue to contribute to the improvement of success in the business as well as your own career advancement.
