Debt Collection Officer

**(This position is not for third party agency debt collectors. We require non agency, field experienced applicants)**

The purpose of this position is to ensure, and implement regularity and control over company's overall Debt Collection requirements. The Debt Collector’s roles, responsibilities and authorities are defined in order to be incorporated into the existing activities, such as govt. relations, chamber of commerce and/or duty statements, as appropriate. For this, the company has a requirement of a Debt Collector, whose roles and responsibilities are listed below.

**Responsibilities**:

- Planning, calling and coordinating all collection and receivables requirements in consultation with Accounts Department and Finance Manager.
- Visiting clients; Collecting cash and cheques; depositing in banks and company as required.
- Collecting cheques and follow-up telephonically and physically in person in and out of work timings regardless of holidays.
- Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts
- Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments
- Locate and contact debtors to inquire of their payment status
- Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
- Handle questions or complaints
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Create trust relationships with debtors when possible to avoid future issues
- Update account status and database regularly
- Alert superiors of debtors unwilling or unable to pay when necessary
- Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable
- Any other task assigned by the company from time to time

**Requirements**:

- Strong Personality with an attitude to get the job done.
- Showcase performance and productivity in line with the JD
- Responsible and a reliable team player
- Service oriented approach for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience as debt collector mandatory
- Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines
- Knowledge of relevant legal requirements
- Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Apt in negotiating and persuading
- Ability to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence
- Excellent reporting skills
- Languages - English and Arabic preferred.

Mandatory Requirements:

- Valid UAE driving License
- Graduate with Finance & Accounting background
- Age between 25-38

**Salary**: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month

Expected Start Date: 01/06/2023
