An amazing opportunity has opened up in our fine dining french restaurant Bord Eau. The successful applicant will play an important role in looking out for the operation, management and overall performance of Bord Eau restaurant. Bord Eau manager will be looked to inspire his colleagues every day to ensure that the quality of service for which Shangri-La is known and loved is upheld. Bord Eau is a classical French cuisine elevated by the very best produce. Artfully plated dishes paired with the finest wines promise a meal to remember at this Louis XIII décor inspired restaurant.

What will you do?

To implement service standards and procedures to ensure that they are achieved and followed by proper training, supervision and control.
To rotate and schedule all staff in order to provide full coverage for efficient service and to maximize productivity.
To maintain an effective orientation and training program for all new staff and to constantly re-train old staff to maintain the specified standard of service.
To motivate, educate and develop staff on a continuous basis to achieve an overall maximum of efficiency and confidence.
To minimize guest complaints, but if it should occur, to take remedial action immediately.
To ensure that all guests are greeted and seated courteously without delay at a properly set and clean table.
To ensure that all guests are served promptly.
To check on the mise-en-place daily.
To check on guest satisfaction by talking to the guest.
To stress the importance of personal cleanliness, grooming and that the staff do not deviate from the prescribed uniform.
To be constantly on the look for ways and means to improve the smooth running of the operation.
To work closely with the Chef in charge of the Kitchen on quality and cost control of food.
To coordinate with the Chief Steward and bar service for the back-up services.
We expect your outlet to be very busy due to high turnover which means most house guests and a lot of local guests will patronize this outlet. Therefore it is important that everything possible should be done to give our guests a good impression of our hotel by making sure that food, service and all other facilities are of high quality.
The cleanliness, tidiness and orderliness of the outlet is of utmost importance. Thus, a checklist has to be kept at all areas are inspected and faults corrected as soon as possible, i.e. lighting, in door plants, walls, cushions, tables and stations. Furthermore, chinaware, glassware, silverware and napkins have to be checked constantly to maintain the standard required.

Shangri-La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi

The hotel comprises 213 luxurious guestrooms and suites and 6 four-bedroom villas with private pools, all furnished to the highest standards in a modern Arabic style. To meet the needs of long-staying guests, the hotel offers 161 fully-furnished spacious serviced apartments ranging from studios to four-bedroom units. The hotel is located within the acclaimed Qaryat Al Beri complex, on a one-kilometre stretch of private beach overlooking the strait that separates Abu Dhabi Island from the mainland. The hotel is conveniently located next to a souk, offering a variety of shops under one roof. It is only a ten-minute drive from the city’s international airport, five minutes from the golf course and the Convention Centre, and 15 minutes from the Corniche and the city centre.
