Organize control and monitor the activities of housekeeping staff on a shift in relation to overall cleanliness and maintenance of in-patient rooms, public areas and offices ensuring continuous service and quality standard laid down by the facilities manager as per the hospital standard. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and hospital policy..
- Report to Facilities Manager and Responsible for executing work under his direction and hospital policy. Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
- Ensure Adheres dress code. Wears proper uniform, identity & well-groomed while on duty
- Participate in departmental education on performance improvement, attends committee meetings, continuous quality improvement and other departmental meetings as appropriate.
- Responsible for preparing duty Rota and conduct departmental briefing at start of each shift and ensure that all staffs are appropriately dressed and well groomed.
- Bring awareness in staff about daily operation statistics
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of patient rooms, floors, corridors, outpatient clinics, public areas, public rest rooms, waiting areas and fire exits are up to the required standards and maintained at all the times.
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies/ Procedures / service standards. Complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Ensure that all housekeeping staff know and follow correct safety and security practices
- Plan organize allocate and brief housekeeping staff on each shift and co-ordinate activities ensuring that highest standard of hygiene are maintained throughout hospital including public rest rooms, waiting areas.
- Work closely with other supervisors, nursing staff, engineering staff front liners, communicate effectively to ensure all tasks are completed effectively on time and to the required standards. to ensure smooth running of department
- Ensure the correct key signing in / out procedures is adhering to all times and reports any discrepancies to Facilities manager.
- Maintain the specified cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, bottles are correctly labeled, Color coded and adequate stock available. Monitor usage of cleaning materials, equipment’s, in the designated areas at all the time. And to be performed daily and weekly inventories.
- Inspect of all physician clinics and treatment rooms to ensure all cleaning, maintenance duties have been completed to the required standards before running clinics
- Inspect of all vacant and cleaned discharged rooms to ensure all cleaning maintenance duties have been completed to the required standards before new admissions.
- High School/Bachelor
- Minimum 5 years' experience in health care or hospital i ty sector as housekeeping supervisor.
- Knowledge of the methods, tools, and technologies used in the decontamination process for exposure to biohazardous.
- Knowledge to conduct decontamination in various medical environments Knowledge of policy procedure, used in infection prevention and control.
- Knowledge of equipment’s and techniques on daily activities of department. Ability to impede the spread of infection and disease.
- Strong interpersonal skills and Clear communication skills.
- Ability to manage in a professional, efficient, and consistent manner.
- Must be able to provide services appropriate to the age of a customer
