Roles and responsibilities
  • Bachelor'sdegree in Technology, Management, Finance, or a relateddiscipline.
  • At least beginner-levelcertification in 1 or more Agile frameworks (Eg. PSM-I, CSM, KMP,SA, etc.). Intermediate or expert level certifications preferred(CSP, CSC, SPC, CST, SPCT, PSM-II, etc.).

MinimumExperience

  • In-depth knowledge of team-levelAgile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), plus one or more scalingframeworks (SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, Scrum @Scale, Spotify model,etc.)
  • Certified as an Agile Coach and/or ScrumMaster.
  • Worked in Agile for a minimum of 5years, in a mix of delivery and coaching roles, some of which wasspent in a large, complex organization.
  • Beenpart of two or more Agile transformationprogrammes.
  • At least intermediate-level skillswith the following tools: JIRA, Confluence,Miro.
  • Able to work in a hands-on role, whilstalso contributing at a programme level.
  • Adaptedto delivering training and coachingremotely.
  • Can demonstrate their ability toinfluence senior stakeholders and contribute to a change of mindsetin an organisation.
  • Flexible approach and isproactive in identifying additional value they canadd.
  • Excellent communication skills –written and verbal.
  • Ability to engage and buildconsensus between stakeholders from different specialisations andorg functions.

  • DeepKnowledge of AgileFrameworks:

    • Acomprehensive understanding of various agile methodologies likeScrum,Kanban,Lean, ExtremeProgramming (XP), and Scaled AgileFramework (SAFe).
    • Knowledge ofadvanced agile practices like ContinuousDelivery, DevOps, andTestAutomation.

  • Facilitationand CommunicationSkills:

    • Strongfacilitation skills to run meetings, retrospectives, and workshopsthat are engaging and effective.
    • Excellentcommunication skills to convey complex ideas clearly and help teamsunderstand the "why" behind agilepractices.

  • Coachingand Mentorship:

    • Abilityto mentor and guide teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, andleaders without being prescriptive, helping individuals becomeself-sufficient.
    • A strong ability to listen,ask powerful questions, and empower others to find their ownsolutions.

  • ConflictResolution:

    • Strongskills in mediating conflicts within teams and between team membersand leadership, ensuring that issues are addressed constructivelyand don't hinder the team'sprogress.

  • ChangeManagement:

    • Ability todrive and manage change within an organization, helping individualsand teams adjust to new ways of working andthinking.
    • Understanding of organizationaldynamics and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels toembrace agilepractices.

  • AnalyticalThinking:

    • Provide hands-oncoaching to development teams, ensuring they understand andimplement agile practices effectively (e.g., Scrum ceremonies likedaily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives,etc.).
    • Help teams become self-organizing andcross-functional, fostering collaboration, communication, andaccountability.
    • Facilitate conflict resolutionand encourage healthy team dynamics for continuousimprovement.

  • SupportingScrum Masters and ProductOwners:

    • MentoringScrum Masters on their roles, helpingthem facilitate ceremonies and remove impediments that affect theteam's progress.
    • CoachingProduct Owners on theirresponsibilities, particularly in backlog management, writingeffective user stories, and maintaining a clear vision of theproduct.

  • ImprovingAgile Practices andFrameworks:

    • Continuouslyevaluate and refine the implementation of agile practices withinteams, recommending adjustments based on retrospectives andfeedback.
    • Introduce and train teams in advancedagile practices like Test-Driven Development(TDD), Continuous Integration(CI), AutomatedTesting, and Behavior-DrivenDevelopment (BDD) to improve delivery andquality.
    • Help teams experiment with differentagile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and ensure they areusing the right approach based on project needs andcontext.

  • FosteringAgile Mindset andCulture:

    • Promote anagile mindset throughout the organization, ensuring that agileprinciples such as collaboration, flexibility, transparency, anditerative progress are fully understood andapplied.
    • Encourage a culture of continuouslearning and improvement, where feedback loops and retrospectivesplay a central role.
    • Facilitate discussions andworkshops to deepen the understanding of agile values andprinciples.

  • LeadershipCoaching:

    • Work withsenior management and leadership to align their behaviors anddecisions with agile values.
    • Assist in breakingdown organizational silos, fostering transparency, and empoweringteams to make decisions.
    • Advocate for removingorganizational obstacles that prevent agile teams from deliveringvalueeffectively.

  • Measurementand Metrics:

    • Define keyperformance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of agileinitiatives (e.g., lead time, cycle time, velocity, team happiness,customer satisfaction).
    • Help teams analyzetheir metrics, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisionsfor improving theirprocesses.
