Roles and responsibilities

The International BusinessDevelopment Manager is responsible for leading the development andexecution of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group's internationalgrowth strategies, business development initiatives, andpartnerships to expand the organization's presence in theglobal port, logistics, and maritime industries. This positionplays a crucial role in driving the organization'slong-term success by identifying new opportunities and fosteringrelationships with key stakeholders in the internationalmarket.

Responsibilities

CoreResponsibilities:

  • Develop and implement internationalgrowth strategies and initiatives, targeting new markets andbusiness opportunities in the port, logistics, and maritimeindustries.
  • Conduct market research andanalysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potentialrisks in international markets.
  • Establish andmaintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders (internal andexternal), including government agencies, industry associations,and private sector entities, to promote the organization'sglobal presence.
  • Collaborate withcross-functional teams to develop new businessopportunities.
  • Manage the internationalbusiness development pipeline, ensuring timely progress andalignment with the organization's strategicobjectives.
  • Monitor and report on theperformance of international projects, providing regular updates tosenior management and stakeholders.
  • Roll out ofthe prepared strategies within the wider ADPG Group, includingClusters and other internal stakeholders (M&A Team andCorporate Commercial team)
  • Regularly interactwith internal stakeholders (including Regional CEOs) and Clustersfor strategy related topics
  • Evaluate Projectsincluding financial and commercials analyses, as well as leadingdue diligence processes with externaladvisors
  • Ensure that the BD Team retain theright focus in terms of projectsprioritization
  • Prepare internal and externalupdates (Presentation, Reports, IC / Board Materials etc). Solidexperience with PowerPoint and Excel is amust
  • Acting as the project lead and developingfull business cases.
  • Industry knowledge: deepunderstanding of the port, logistics, and maritime sectors,including market dynamics, key players, emerging technologies, andindustry trends. Familiarity with various transportation modes,such as shipping, rail, and road, and their integration in theglobal supply chain.
  • Market research: expertisein conducting market research and competitive analysis to identifyopportunities, assess risks, and inform the development ofinternational growth strategies.

People ManagementResponsibilities:

  • Establish clear performanceexpectations and goals, providing regular feedback and conductingperformance evaluations.
  • Facilitatecross-functional collaboration and communication, ensuringalignment between the international strategy team and otherdepartments within the organization.
Desired candidate profile
  • Contribute to the development of theorganization's overall strategic vision, ensuring thatinternational growth strategies align with and support the broaderorganizational goals of ADPG.
  • Engage withindustry thought leaders, staying current on best practices andtrends in the port, logistics, and maritimesectors.
  • Represent the organization atinternational conferences, events, and trade shows to promote theorganization's brand and establish its presence in theglobal market.

Qualifications

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, InternationalBusiness, Maritime Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management,or a related field. A Master's degree, such as an MBA orMaster's in International Business, is highlypreferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in projectmanagement, with a strong track record of managing complex,cross-functional projects in an international context. A ProjectManagement Professional (PMP) certification or similar is aplus.
