Job Description:


We are currently seeking an experienced Ship Broker with expertise in Dirty Petroleum Products (DPP) and Clean Petroleum Products (CPP) chemical tanker broking, coupled with a strong background in handling exports from CHINA / ASIA to the Middle East region.

Based in Dubai, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our brokerage team, facilitating the chartering of chemical tankers and optimizing client outcomes in line with their shipping requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Utilize expertise in DPP/CPP chemical tanker broking to facilitate the chartering of vessels for the transportation of petroleum products, chemicals, and related cargoes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, charterers, and other stakeholders in the maritime industry to expand business opportunities and ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify suitable vessels for charter and negotiate competitive freight rates and terms that align with client requirements and market conditions.
  • Actively monitor market trends, vessel availability, and freight rates, providing market insights and strategic advice to clients.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their shipping needs, including cargo volume, destination, scheduling, and any specific requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including operations, legal, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of charter agreements and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential business opportunities and develop marketing strategies to attract new clients.
  • Manage the entire chartering process from initial inquiry to post-fixture activities, including contract negotiations, voyage planning, and demurrage/dispatch calculations.
  • Stay updated with industry developments, maritime regulations, and geopolitical factors affecting the shipping market, particularly in the Middle East region.
  • Maintain accurate records of chartering activities, vessel fixtures, market data, and client interactions using internal systems and databases.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Ship Broker with a focus on DPP/CPP chemical tankers, preferably in the Middle East region.
  • Strong understanding of the chemical tanker market, including vessel types, trade routes, cargo specifications, and industry dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable charter terms and rates for clients.
  • Proficiency in using chartering platforms, market analysis tools, and industry databases to support decision-making.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English. Knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, demonstrating adaptability and initiative.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis.
  • Familiarity with international trade practices, shipping regulations, and customs procedures, particularly in the Middle East.
  • Previous experience in handling exports from the Middle East region is highly desirable.
