JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and, if applicable, Laundry. Directs and works with employees to ensure property guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are clean and well-maintained. Conducts inspections and ensures accountability for corrective actions. The position plays a key role in maintaining guest and employee satisfaction while managing the operating budget efficiently.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the housekeeping or related field.
OR

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major; no prior work experience needed.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Housekeeping Operations and Budgets

  • Ensures timely communication of guest room status to the Front Desk.
  • Conducts daily inspections of guestrooms.
  • Plans work assignments based on rooms to be cleaned immediately and expected check-outs.
  • Checks stock levels to maintain adequate supplies.
  • Implements and oversees an inspection program for guestrooms and public areas.
  • Manages operations to achieve or exceed budget goals considering the department's impact on overall property finances.
  • Checks and provides employees with necessary supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
  • Communicates areas needing attention to staff and ensures comprehension.
  • Supervises daily Housekeeping operations to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Engages in departmental meetings to convey clear goals for optimal outcomes.

Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Utilizes available training tools to onboard and train new room attendants, offering additional training as needed.
  • Builds and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures mutual respect.
  • Manages employee schedules based on business needs and monitors their time and attendance.
  • Ensures employees comprehend expectations and guidelines.
  • Ensures fair and consistent application of property policies, completion of disciplinary procedures according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures, and supports the Peer Review Process.
  • Supervises staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
  • Monitors employees' service behaviors and provides individual feedback.
  • Ensures employee recognition occurs consistently across all shifts.
  • Participates in employee recognition programs.
  • Encourages employee feedback, maintains an open-door policy, and addresses concerns proactively.
  • Implements progressive discipline procedures when necessary.
  • Acknowledges and celebrates team members' contributions and successes openly.
