Station Controller

The Station Controller is a critical role within the Keolis MHI organization responsible for monitoring security and providing real-time information to passengers across the Dubai Metro system, and assisting the OCC Controllers by supporting the scheduled timetable and ensuring the safety of operations for the Dubai Metro.

While the missions and activities described are not exhaustive, this position is essential for ensuring the safety and smooth operation of the metro network.

Station Controllers will be trained to hold an appreciation for both the Depot Controller role and Train Controller skills to help with the communication with internal and external stakeholders.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic

  • Responsible for controlling the security in all areas of Dubai Metro system such as office buildings, stations, depots, any auxiliary buildings and car parks.
  • Provide prompt, up-to-date and clear information from the Control Center to passengers at stations and on-board trains.

Stakeholder / Customer

  • Maintain good communications with Passenger service staff, Security personal and other E&M staff of the Dubai Metro lines.
  • Assisting DM during degraded and emergency by initiating and maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Dealing with emergency services and third parties (DTS police OCC & Stations, RTA Costumer service and EC3, DCD, Ambulance, Bus OCC).
  • Deal with Network Security patrol Supervisors and escalate as necessary.
  • Record and update the criminal records in coordination with Dubai Metro Security Team.
  • Facilitate DVVR requests and keep the records.

Operational

  • Maintaining Information Controller logs / Daily Security reports.
  • Monitor status of OCS equipment (e.g. ECB, PAS, FPS, CCTV).
  • Reviewing CCTV or playback upon Duty Manager and Senior Controller instruction.
  • Reviewing SMC playback upon Duty Manager and senior Controller instruction.
  • Updating Train punctuality sheet.
  • Sending SMS upon Duty manager and Senior Controller instruction.
  • Provide prompt, up-to-date and clear information from the control centre to passengers at stations and on-board trains.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, breaches or potential breaches to appropriate management or the speak up process.
  • Monitor status of unmanned location PED's / EED's / Annex / EEP's etc...
  • Monitor ITES, CCTV.
  • Communicate service changes, delays or disruptions via station announcements.
  • Assist passengers with inquiries and help them navigate the metro system.

Capability / People

  • Understanding for Active OR / SOR and MOR.
  • Clear understanding for disruption management plan and how to implement it, including alternative plan for bus service .
  • Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
  • Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the OCC Duty Manager/Senior Controller.
  • Ensure compliance with the Keolis-MHI Management System and all relevant business processes, procedures and work instructions to deliver all work with appropriate quality and governance standards.
  • Ensure the security of information and integrity of all data provided including reporting performance, finance and customer information; reference Keolis-MHI non-disclosure policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all training requirements of Keolis-MHI and ensure adherence to these requirements at all times whilst in employment.
  • Participate in training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute ideas and feedback to improve station operations and the passenger experience.

EDUCATIONNAL QUALIFCATIONS

  • Secondary education in a related discipline.
