About the Role:


The Project Coordinator will report to the Regional Partner in charge of Projects development and be responsible for project tracking and reporting for small, mid to large-scale projects related to renovations and infrastructure projects at many of the hotels within the Valor portfolio.

The Project Coordinator will act as the link for Valor Projects between the Valor team, Project Manager, Procurement Services, and hotel staff.


The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Procurement Manager and Buyers as well as Architects, Engineers, Designers, Job Superintendents and Project Managers to assist in all phases of a hotel Renovation and New Construction project, from planning, execution, and through the end of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain a Valor Projects database
  • Participate in preparing estimates of project scope, timeline, project schedules, and costing
  • Develop work plans, track progress, and deliver status reports
  • Coordinate activities with the various subcontracting consultants required to execute capital plans
  • Coordinate communication with Property Managers and Valor Ops team
  • Prepare reporting for senior management and the Board
  • Track and report on compliance
  • Participate in proposal clarifications, contract negotiations, assembling bid packages, invoice processing, and contracts
  • Coordinate the change order process between Owner PM and Valor Projects
  • Prepare project closeout packages
  • Ad hoc office support, to the Valor overall team
  • Ensure Valor internal controls are followed throughout the project schedule

Competencies We Are Seeking:

  • Postsecondary degree in Business, Hospitality or Architecture
  • Entrylevel training completed (CAPM), and/or working toward Project Management (PMP) designation.
  • 3 years' experience in the construction or hospitality industry in project roles.
  • Three of experience in similar role.
  • Or who has worked in a projects office as an understudy to a project manager and who has a degree in Building Science etc.
  • Demonstrated superior analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, multiproject work
  • Selfmotivated, takes initiative in creating and refining processes and workflows
  • Excellent relationship skills able to build and maintain a diverse relationship base
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Prior experience working with QuickBase systems is an asset
  • Required to work a flexible schedule depending on deadlines
  • Travel to renovation/construction sites will be required

  • Frequent mental and visual concentration during computer work daily
  • Frequent listening and mental attentiveness in dealing with Vendor, Customer, or Public, and Manager's requirements
  • Frequent mental effort required in multitasking and handling interruptions that require constant refocusing
