As General Manager for the UAE, you will report to the US-based President of Operations and have the unique opportunity to launch, develop, and own the P&L for one of the first air taxi services in the world.
This full-time role is located in Dubai, UAE. 30% travel is expected, primarily to the United States and the rest of the MENA region.Responsibilities
Own Your Business:
The P&L owner is accountable for setting and achieving the growth and profitability targets for the regionBuild the Team: Recruit, develop, and empower a high-performing local team, some of whom will matrix to US-based teams
Drive Strategic Execution:
Implement a regional vision and business strategy that balances execution across marketing, business development, product, operations, and back-officeCollaborate with US Team: Work cross-functionally with Joby's US-based headquarters functions to support global strategic initiatives and to launch a successful, safe, and compliant service in the UAE
Analyze Performance:
Proactively monitor and optimize service performance to ensure a profitable and best-in-class customer experienceEstablish the Brand: Gather market insights and work closely with Joby's marketing, business development, and communications teams to build a highly recognizable local brandPolicy & Partnerships: Build and maintain strong relationships with local government entities and strategic partners to strengthen Joby's regional positionLocal Face of Joby: Represent Joby at all local events and with local pressReport to

Provide regular updates on business performance and identify areas requiring support from the executive team and board of directors
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience8+ years of cross-functional leadership experience5+ years of management experience, with increasing levels of responsibilityDemonstrated success in leading and managing large, high-performing teams within a fast-paced and dynamic tech environmentEntrepreneurial mindset suited for launching and scaling a new entityProven track record of P&L managementExcellent communicator who can inspire teams, collaborate cross-functionally, and represent the organization with external stakeholdersStrong policy exposure and knowledge of regulatory frameworks in the regionExceptional ability to build and execute on growth strategyExtensive network within the region, particularly within policy, aviation, and tech, and proven ability to develop and maintain relationshipsData-driven decision-maker with a proven ability to optimize operational performanceFluent in English, both written and verbal communicationAble to travel up to 30% of the time, including to the United StatesLegally able to work in Dubai, UAE, or have the ability to be sponsored for a work visa
