Perform phases oflaboratory testing procedures which may include pre-analytic,analytic and post analytic phases up to and including C leveltesting. Comply with all regulatory protocols related to safety andlab testing, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures. Provide inperson and telephone customer service. Document all activities,including basic data entry andprinting.

EssentialResponsibilities

  • Specimen Processing: Processing ofspecimens for A, B, or C level complexity testing procedure(s) asdefined by KFHPW laboratory system. Participates in Qualityassurance procedures and activities. Performs specimen processinginstrument maintenance andtroubleshooting.
  • Computer Data Entry &Retrieval: Test accessioning, information lookup and resulttranscribing.
  • Technical Resource: Helps resolveproblems and answer preanalytical procedural questions. Serves as afrontline resource to the laboratorys customers. Assists in thereview and updates of laboratory procedure manuals for their workarea.
  • Other duties may include: Phlebotomy, Clevel testing, Performing EKGs.

BasicQualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma or GeneralEducation Development (GED) required..

License, Certification,Registration

  • MedicalAssistant Phlebotomist Certificate (Washington) within 6 months ofhire OR Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) within 6 monthsof hire
  • Basic Life Support within 3 months ofhire

AdditionalRequirements

  • Computerskills.
  • Communication.
  • Customerservice and problem-solving skills.

PreferredQualifications

  • Recent completion of a phlebotomyprogram OR recent phlebotomy and clinical laboratoryexperience.
