This position is based out of Grande Prairie, AB and operates on a 14 day on 7 day off schedule.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build and arm perforating strings (inspection and verification of gun related equipment);
  • Drives company pickups that may be pulling trailers according to the rules and regulations of governing transportation guidelines and policy and procedures;
  • Under direct supervision, the Wireline Operator will be involved in the preparation of the unit and calibration of equipment;
  • Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor safely, efficiently according to established standards, policies and guidelines;
  • Rig up and rig down wireline equipment and pressure control equipment;
  • Under direct supervision, the Wireline Operator will redresses tools in the shop and in the field;
  • Assists the supervisor in the troubleshooting of too, equipment and truck problems;
  • Cleans and maintains company vehicles, tools and equipment;
  • Other duties as assigned by the reporting Manager.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Some Wireline training (an asset);
  • Explosives Safety (preferred);
  • Basic Electronic knowledge;
  • Willingness to learn and grow;
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple oral and written English instructions and effectively communicate information to others;
  • Basic math skills (additions, subtraction, multiplication and division);
  • Ability to think quickly and apply problem solving skills to situations as they come up in the field;
  • Ability to work in a positive team environment;
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools;
  • Mechanical aptitude;
  • Ability to operate independently;
  • Ability to champion a company safety culture.

Work Conditions:

  • Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain);
  • Frequent lifting, pushing and pulling (70 pounds);
  • Frequent bending, twisting and standing;
  • Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather;
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week;
  • Exposure to high noise over 85 dba;
  • Working with explosives.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 license (a must)
  • Results from a pre-employment test;
  • 5 years drivers abstract;
  • Ability to travel;
