Purpose of Role:

  • Handle a variety of operations/production problems requiring judgment within generally.
  • Defined policies and procedures.
  • Provide users guidance and first level support by assisting in problem resolution
  • Perform quality checks and distributes reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responds to users requests for information and assists in problem resolution.
  • Maintains contact with users on operational and production problems.
  • Perform problem tracking and initiate escalation procedures as required.
  • Ensure that all problems are logged.
  • Prioritize problems.
  • Checks quality and distributes reports requested by users for onsite and remote users.
  • Assists systems and programming personnel, as requested.
  • Logs documents and maintains history records on Information Technology production problems.
  • Initiates corrective action or carries out instructions to resolve system problems on production jobs.
  • Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.
  • Strives to learn the job functions of the position's immediate superior as well as peer level positions with whom the individual interacts. It is the responsibility of the individual to be prepared for temporary reassignment and/or promotion due to extended illness, personal emergency or business necessity.
  • Fulfils departmental requirements in terms of providing administrative notification during periods of illness, vacation, or education.
  • Develops and maintains service level agreements with the various user departments and the "Company" business units.
  • Performs at or above the "Company's" Information Technology performance standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Systems / Computer Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Minimum experience 12 years in experience.
  • Commercial acumen and a good eye for detail, coupled with a strong academic background.
  • Excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise with both finance and nonfinance professionals.
  • Computer literate with strong excel skills, understanding of computerised accounting preferably ERP systems.

Core Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Help Desk management system is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of all "Company's" hardware and software in use.
  • Ability to operate computer and peripheral equipment.
